...sounds a bit of a silly question but I've received an oil burner and some fragrances but I'm not positive how to use it.

Pour a little water into the well at the top of the burner and add two to three drops of the oils into the water – it’s important to dilute them, as essential oils are strong.
Light a tealight and place it under the well – there should be a little area for it at the base of the burner. Ensure that you don’t leave it unattended and keep it away from draughts. Make sure you blow the candle out before the water evaporates as that way it will be easier to clean.
